What's New

Everyone who travels to Africa comes home with one thing in mind: going back. A few of us intrepid travelers learned why in Kenya, last September.

The African sky, the sun bouncing off the savannah, and the animals whose camouflage colors blend into the landscape made nearly every snapshot a work of art. Lion, elephant, and giraffe families ignored our cameras and carried on with their routine as if we weren’t there. The images we captured are all we have to assure ourselves that we weren’t dreaming.

Amboseli: the savannah, Kilimanjaro peeking out from the clouds, elephants galore, the Masai villages. Samburu: incredible giraffes and all those little pesky monkeys; loud night sounds as the river rushed below our camp. Masai Mara: cats – lions, leopards, cheetahs; hippos climbing up the river bank at night to graze on the shrubbery outside our tents. Hyenas. Wildebeest! Everywhere the streams of wildebeest played follow the leader. And all sorts of unusual birds wearing every possible color and design.

Most memorable is the hospitality shown to us by our hosts whose goal it was to warmly welcome visitors and proudly show off their beautiful country.

2012 means great opportunity for new adventures. ITALY! We return at last to the place where Callisto groups first toured. Our Tour d’Italia is truly a small group tour designed and escorted by Pamela Abraham to share the classic history of Rome, the renaissance of Florence, and the explorers of Venice. Italy is best experienced through its art, history, food, and wine and our Tour d’Italia itinerary is handpicked to fully explore all fronts.

More Italy! How about an active adventure in Sicily? Cycling, trekking, or rowing and time to soak up the sensory delights, history, and beauty to be found in this culturally rich part of Italy. A trip itinerary is under discussion and updates will be posted here as plans develop.

Fall in Germany? A perfect time for those who want to explore the complicated history of Berlin as well as its famous contemporary art scene. This is a unique itinerary and a fully guided small group tour for those who want to get away and have some fun in the hottest destination in Europe.

If you only have a few days, indulge with us in the exceptional food and wine culture of California’s West Sonoma County.

Remember that travel stimulates, educates and creates lifelong memories. Give yourself the gift of travel.

PS: Before 2011 ends we will be scouting out a new adventure in India. Many of our friends have asked us to create a group tour in India – more information to follow on our return.
